Rachel Brody
UNSC Student Mentor
Rachel is a junior University Scholar from Castle Rock, CO concentrating in Neuroscience, Medical Humanities, and Spanish. After Baylor, she plans to attend medical school. On campus, Rachel is involved as a Baylor Equestrian Team student athlete, Baylor Undergraduate Research in Science and Technology, and the Baylor Behavioral Medicine and Laparoscopy labs.
Rachel’s favorite reading list book was Don Quixote by Miguel Cervantes. She will soon begin work on her honors thesis, which she hopes to write on student athlete mental health or the intersection of the Spanish language and medicine. She’s worked with faculty mentors Dr. Jeff Hunt (UNSC), Dr. Ginger Hanchey (English), Dr. Jeff Olafsen (Physics), and Dr. Lauren Barron (Medical Humanities).
Rachel would love to meet and chat with any UNSC student and can answer questions about living in Earle Hall, being a student athlete, pre-medicine, and the UNSC program. To new students, she says: “The UNSC program has been one of the best decisions of my college career and has challenged me, encouraged me, and allowed me to spend much more time involved in the things I truly love and am interested in. I'm so excited to meet all the new students and welcome you to Baylor!”
