Advisement
UNSC advisement takes place twice each year. In the Fall semester, advisement takes place in October, before November registration. In the Spring, advisement takes place in March, before April registration. All Scholars will receive an e-mail prior to these dates with instructions for scheduling an appointment through Navigate.
Because the University Scholars major allows for such diverse paths of study, Scholars require different combinations of advising. With the exception of BIC students in their freshman or sophomore year, all Scholars are required to meet with a UNSC advisor each semester before registration. All Scholars in their junior and senior years are also required to meet with an Honors advisor. Scholars enrolled in BIC are required to meet with a BIC advisor each semester of their freshman and sophomore years.
Advisement with additional departments or programs depends on the Scholar’s course of study. Scholars should seek advisement in disciplines where they are pursuing concentrations and in programs such as Prehealth or Pre-law. Scholars can view the list of UNSC Faculty Mentors to find faculty members from departments across campus who are ready to meet with Scholars to help them toward the best possible preparation for their post-baccalaureate plans.
Scholars should consult all relevant advisors before requesting final schedule approval from UNSC.
