Derek is a junior University Scholar from Knoxville, TN concentrating in Great Texts, Philosophy, French, and English. After Baylor, he plans to obtain his Ph.D. in English Literature. On campus, Derek is involved in Baylor’s French Club.
A couple of Derek’s favorite reading list books were Don Quixote by Miguel de Cervantes and Anna Karenina by Leo Tolstoy. For his thesis, he plans to do a creative thesis composed of poetry and an analytical thesis on Russian Literature. He’s worked with faculty mentors Dr. Thomas Hibbs (Philosophy) and Dr. Joe Fulton (English).
